how do you know if you’re having an orgasm?
by Elise Schuster, MPH - Co-Founder and Executive Director of OkaySo
Orgasms. People talk about them all the time, but we usually never hear about what they actually are or how they happen. Today, we're going to break it down for you!
Orgasms happen at peak sexual arousal, where some signs can be muscle contractions, squeezing, heightened breathing, a sudden feeling of relief, and an accelerated heart rate.
With that being said, orgasms don't feel the same for everyone, and they sometimes don't even feel the same each time! Orgasms can range from feeling intense, mild, or even somewhere in the middle.
If you've never had an orgasm before, that is normal and completely okay. Everyone's body is different and experiences pleasure in different ways, so experiment with what feels good to YOU! Orgasms aren't required to have enjoyable sex.
